The United Methodist Women (UMW) is a faith-based membership organization of laywomen within The United Methodist Church. We are organized for mission, and our members are committed to growing as disciples of Jesus Christ. United Methodist Women has been in mission for more than 140 years. We provide opportunities and resources to grow spiritually, become more deeply rooted in Christ and put faith into action in our community with other women, building the lives of women, children and youth. We equip women and girls around the world to be leaders in communities, agencies, workplaces, governments and churches. We work for justice through compassionate services and advocacy to change unfair polices and systems, and provide education experiences that lead to personal change in order to transform the world. Salem United Methodist Women meet on the second Monday of each month at 6:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall for fellowship and to discuss business.
